Tropical Sea Green Smoothie

This thick, zingy smoothie is lovely for breakfast, or as a cooling snack on a hot afternoon, especially if you use frozen prepared mango as well as frozen banana. The Sea Greens really enhance the sweetness and tropical tang of the fruits, whilst. the ginger provides a fragrant peppery lift. 

Serves 1. 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 a frozen banana 
  • 1cm piece of fresh root ginger 
  • 1/2 a ripe mango 
  • 10ml/2tsp flaked Sea Greens or 15ml/1 tbsp fresh Sea Greens, snipped into small pieces. 
  • 200ml/7fl oz/scant 1 cup cold water

Method 

Peel the banana and ginger, chop them into pieces and place them in a blender. 

Slice off one 'cheek' of the mango, cut away the skin and roughly dice the flesh.

Add this to the blender with the Sea Greens and water and blitz until well blended. 

Pour the smoothie into a glass and serve immediately.
